Useful links for pharmacy students

The electronic Medicines Compendium (eMC) This has been my most favourite and most used website as a pharmacy student. It has the Summary of Product Characteristics (SPC) and Patient Information Leaflets (PIL) for all the drugs prescribed in the UK. The SPC has all sorts of useful and interesting information such as the pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, indications, doses, side effects and interactions.

Royal Pharmaceutical Society (RPS) Have just added this link in. Despite joining the RPS in first year I never managed to log in properly as a student. I have now reset my password and joined as a pre-reg trainee and it looks really good. Definitely worth looking at as a student if time allows.

General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) This is where the forms are for applying for pre-reg training once you have been offered a pre-reg placement.

Pharmalife This is the website for hospital pre-reg applications. It is worth registering and starting applications early.

Pharmaceutical Services Negotiating Committee (PSNC) Useful information on community pharmacy stuff. Lots of information on dispensing, services, The Five Year Forward Plan etc. Worth looking at before placements and interviews.
